Sunrise Ceremony - 5:30amThe opening of our celebration begins with prayers, the sounding of the conch and drums. As our cultural practitioners set the purpose and intentions of the day. If you know the protocol chants please join us.
During this time there will also be Hālaus, organizations and individuals that will present chants and hula for our Ali’i. The Ceremony is open to the public. All we ask is to be in reverence as this is not a show. As one of the protocols our practitioners bless and consecrate the statue grounds, we ask to please be mindful of the roped boundaries. We also ask for the public to be mindful of all audio recordings, please respect the presenter(s) as there may chants that are sacred to an individual or Hālau.
