Celebrate Hawaiian Culture
After the parade, the Kamehameha Day Celebration continues until 4:30 on June 11, 2008 with a ho‘olaule‘a (music festival) at the Kohala Cultural Center at 55-522 Hawi Hill Road and under the Banyan trees across the street..

During the afternoon, festival goers can visit exhibits to learn more about North Kohala and Hawaiian history and culture. Don’t miss these exhibits:
  • admire elaborate horse lei from the floral parade

  • learn about the activities of Kau Inoa, Kohala Ditch Restoration, Coqui Frog Coalition, and the Hawai‘i Wildlife Center

  • see historic exhibits on Kamehameha I and the Ka‘ahumanu Society, and vintage holoku.
On Stage

A variety of stellar Hawaiian performers, including Rosalind and Matthew Kupuka‘a, and a special performance by Alani Productions.

On Your Plate

Support local community organizations by enjoying a variety of lunch plates and snacks. Serving everything from Hawaiian plate lunch to cotton candy.
